    Higher Ground Movement is a groundbreaking musical community that performs 1-2 times a year. The explosive live shows result from cooperation of as many as 120 singers, musicians, and dancers. In addition to the 25-member Higher Ground Vocals conducted by Hanna-Maria Helenius, Higher Ground also includes the HG Band of up to 12 musicians and sometimes also the HG Mass Choir. The Higher Ground Movement was founded in Spring 2006 for a concert in the Helsinki Savoy theatre. The idea was sprung from a radio show of the same name which the founder Vellu Salminen hosted on Groove FM during the years 2003 to 2007. The debut album by Higher Ground Movement "Forever Mine" released on Nov 24, 2010. The CD features appearances by Axl Smith, Tony Momrelle of Incognito, Max' C, Freddie Moffett, and UMO Horns. The songs are original collaborations by Higher Ground members and the featured guests, mixing modern Gospel sound with influences from Soul, Funk and R&B. The first HG-concert was held in 2006 at Helsinki Savoy-theater, featuring Higher Ground Mass Choir, Powerhouse Vocals and Band. Special guests were Max'C, Kenzie Salter, Axl Smith and Dancers. Second Higher Ground -concert was 2007 at Helsinki Culture House with Tony Momrelle (Incognito) and Kora Green (Al Green's daughter). Higher Ground movement on vallankumouksellinen musiikillinen yhteisö, joka esiintyy 1-2 kertaa vuodessa. Räjähtävä live-esitys on suurimmillaan 120 laulajan, soittajan ja tanssijan yhteistyö. Higher Groundiin kuuluvat Hanna-Maria Heleniuksen johtama vakituisesti harjoitteleva 25 laulajan Higher Ground Vocals, harvoin kasattava HG Mass Choir ja parhaimmillaan 12-henkinen HG Band. Higher Ground movement perustettiin keväällä 2006 Savoy-teatterin konserttia varten. Idea konserttiin lähti Higher Ground -nimisestä radio-ohjelmasta, jota HG:n perustaja Vellu Salminen juonsi Groove FM:llä vuosina 2003-2007. Higher Groundin taustalla on esiintyjien oma Higher Ground ry. 24.11.2010 julkaistiin Higher Ground movementin ensimmäinen albumi Forever Mine. Levyllä vierailevat Axl Smith, Tony Momrelle (Incognito), Max'C, Freddie Moffett ja UMO Horns. Biisimateriaali on Higher Groundilaisten ja vieraiden yhdessä tekemää omaa musiikkia, nykyaikaista gospelia, jossa on vaikutteita soulista, funkista ja r&b:stä. Ensimmäisessä konsertissa Savoyssa 2006 vieraina olivat Kenzie Salter (USA) ja Max'C. Vuonna 2007 HG konsertoi vappuna senaatintorilla Axl Smithin kanssa. Saman vuoden lokakuussa oli Kulttuuritalolla 2 konserttia, joissa vieraina olivat Tony Momrelle (Incognito, UK), Kora Green (Al Greenin tytär, USA), Freddie Moffett (USA), Jippu ja Janna. Vuonna 2008 Higher Groundilla oli joulukonsertti yhdesssä Tony Momrellen kanssa. 2009 joulukuussa Higher Ground täytti lähes äärlään myäten kahtena iltana Helsingin Savoy-teatterin. Vieraina olivat Tony Momrelle, Calvin Bridges, Isaac Carree, Max'C ja Axl Smith! Maaliskuussa 2010 HG:n konsertti täytti Agricolan kirkon. Higher Groundin kuoro Higher Ground Vocals on esiintynyt myös UMO:n kanssa Savoyssa, Axl Smithin vieraana Huvila-teltassa ja Jipun kanssa Emma-gaalassa, sekä Ruisrockissa. .... ....Higher Ground on Facebook.. .. .... ....
